BORN IN GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA ON DECEMBER 15, 1905, THE DAUGHTER OF CHARLES AND ROSE CONNINGHAM PAILLE’. MOVED TO CHARLESTON, S.C. IN 1917.

FORMERLY MARRIED TO HOHN G. SEABROOK AND HAS TWO SONS, SIX GRANDCHILDREN, AND TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.

ONE OF SOUTH CAROLINA’S BEST WOMEN TENNIS PLAYERS FOR 60YEARS. SHE WON HER FIRST TOURNAMENT IN CHARLESTON IN 1924 AND HER LAST PLAYING THE “OPEN” DIVISION IN 1969. WON OVER 170 TITLES IN HER CAREER.

WON THE FIRST STATE OPEN SINGLES CHAMPIONSHOP IN 1926.

MAJOR TITLES INCLUDE 1 CAROLINA OPEN SINGLES, 3 SOUTH CAROLINA OPEN SINGLES, AND 7 SOUTH CAROLINA CLOSED.

WON THE CITY OF CHARLESTON TOURNAMENT WOMEN’S SINGLES 26 TIMES.

THE CANCER BENEFIT TOURNAMENT IN CHARLESTON IS NAMED IN HER HONOR.

ELECTED TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME IN 1979.

PLAYED NUMEROUS SENIOR TOURNAMENTS IN HER SEVENTIES, WINNING FINALIST TROPHIES.

CONTINUED BEING ACTIVE IN SOCIAL TENNIS AT THE TIME OF HER INDUCTION AT AGE 80…. A MEMBER OF WILD DUNES BEACH AND RACQUET CLUB, THE CITADEL TENNIS CLUB, AND THE FAMFIELD TENNIS CENTER.
